Lake Zurich's community-based,

premier feeder basketball program

for boys in 4th-8th grade.

Welcome to LZ Hoops

Founded in 2002, LZ Hoops is providing a unique blend of community-based basketball skill development and competition against other feeder programs for local 4th-8th grade boys in the Lake Zurich, IL area.

We are volunteer lead, non-profit organization run by experienced and volunteer coaches who typically have competed in High School and/or College basketball.

Our development philosophy is intended to give each player the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop both physically and mentally in order to find success on and off the basketball court, now and in the future.

As we all continue to deal with the current COVID-19 Pandemic, players may find they have plenty of extra time at home. Every player is highly encouraged to get a basketball in their hands daily. From shooting in the driveway to dribbling in the basement, it’s important they find ways to stay connected to the game.

Here’s are some idea that can help players continue to grow during this time at home:

1) YouTube – You will find countless appropriately challenging and fun drills on YouTube. Turn drills into mini-games and track improvement. Focusing as little as 10-15 minutes daily on a specific skill can pay great dividends over sustained time.

2) Home Court App – Home Court is an NBA backed app with AI technology that takes players through various guided workouts. From shot analyzing, to dribbling mechanics, and agility drills, this app is a great way to enhance player development. This app does have a monthly or annual cost, however, ALL FEATURES ARE UNLOCKED AND FREE THROUGH APRIL 30.

3) Home Workout PDF – We’ve put together a short basketball workout (with YouTube links included) that focuses on conditioning, improving ball handling, and getting plenty of game-like shots up if you have access to a hoop. You can never do too much ball handling and shooting.
